Expense Tracker Privacy Policy
Template notice: This sample policy must be customized to match Expense Tracker's real data practices, SDKs, permissions, advertising model, target audience, and applicable laws. It is not legal advice.
Effective Date
Effective date: January 1, 2026.
Company or Developer Identity
Expense Tracker is provided by Velose Africa. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Velose Africa.
Information Collected
The app may collect account details, app settings, subscription status, support messages, and limited technical information needed to operate and improve the app. Replace this section with the exact categories collected in production.
Information Entered by Users
Users may enter expenses, income, budgets, categories, notes, receipt details, merchant names, and other financial records. This information may be sensitive and should only be collected, stored, synced, or shared as the app actually requires.
Device and Diagnostic Information
The app may collect device type, operating system version, app version, language, crash logs, performance data, and diagnostic events. Diagnostic information is used to maintain reliability and troubleshoot issues.
Analytics
The app may use analytics to understand feature usage, onboarding completion, errors, and aggregate app performance. Analytics events should avoid containing receipt images, transaction notes, exact merchant names, or other sensitive financial content unless expressly necessary and disclosed.
Advertising
If Expense Tracker displays ads or uses advertising SDKs, those services may process advertising identifiers, approximate location, device information, and ad interaction data. If the app is ad-free, replace this section with a clear statement that the app does not display third-party advertising.
Permissions
Expense Tracker may request permissions such as camera or photos for receipts, notifications for reminders, and storage access where required by the operating system. Permissions should be requested only when needed for a user-facing feature.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to provide expense tracking features, maintain accounts, sync data if offered, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
Legal Basis, Where Applicable
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, processing may be based on contract performance, user consent, legitimate interests, legal obligations, or protection of vital interests. The applicable basis depends on the data category and feature.
Information Sharing
We do not sell user-entered financial records. Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, analytics, crash reporting, payments, authentication, customer support, or legal compliance. Add the exact recipients used by the production app.
Third-Party Services
Expense Tracker may integrate with third-party services such as app stores, payment processors, analytics providers, crash reporting tools, cloud hosting providers, or authentication providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and users should protect their devices, accounts, and backup credentials.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. User-entered records should be deleted or anonymized according to the app's actual retention process.
Account Deletion
Users may request account deletion by following in-app instructions, where available, or by contacting privacy@example.com. See Data Deletion for the general deletion workflow.
User Rights
Depending on location, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. Users may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Children's Privacy
Expense Tracker is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information, contact us.
International Data Transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than the user's country of residence. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for international transfers.
Changes to the Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes should be communicated through the app, this website, or another appropriate channel.
